Volgistics has over twenty years of experience in assisting volunteer leaders through technology, having engaged in thousands of interactions with volunteer coordinators and incorporated numerous customer suggestions. In the early 1980s, the founders of Volgistics were pioneers in using computers for managing volunteer information. Their commitment to supporting volunteer leaders led to the creation of several software solutions, including SAM Volunteer Management Software for DOS in 1988, the Volunteer Information Center touch-screen sign-in system in 1990, VolunteerWorks 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 3.1 in 1993, VolunteerWorks 2.0 for Windows 95 and later in 1997, and VolunteerTools, a web-based platform for online volunteer engagement, in 1999.
