In January 2000, Wellcoaches established the first coaching school dedicated to health and wellness professionals, aiming to develop experts in facilitating behavior change. Known for setting the benchmark in impactful, evidence-based education, training, and certification, Wellcoaches equips professionals with the necessary tools to excel in corporate, healthcare, military, and consumer well-being sectors. With over 14,000 coaches trained in more than 50 countries and an annual training capacity of 1,200 coaches, Wellcoaches has a significant impact on the coaching landscape. Throughout its 22-year journey, the organization has meticulously crafted coaching protocols, training models, and skills assessments while advancing research and standardization. This work contributed to the establishment of CPT codes for health and well-being coaching, designating coaches as healthcare professionals, which launched in January 2020. Wellcoaches is an NBHWC-approved training program, boasting over 1,000 nationally board-certified coaches and a remarkable 94.5% pass rate on the certification exam. Additionally, Wellcoaches produced the pioneering coaching textbook in healthcare, the Coaching Psychology Manual, endorsed by notable organizations such as the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine.
